Hey! Everyone. It’s nice meeting you again with a new article. The journey started from facing rejections in the initial phase and then landing the dream job at Microsoft. If you haven’t read the previous two articles, tap on the links below:

  2. Microsoft Internship Interview Experience 2020

This article is about the experience of the First-Ever Virtual Internship at Microsoft. The first professional experience steps out on 18th May 2020. As it was virtual, Microsoft planned it perfectly to give the best experience throughout the internship. I had a chat with my Manager and Mentor on the first day and that’s it, nothing else happened the whole day. I just waited when I would get to know about the project. Until that time, I was just exploring the Microsoft Teams as all the communication was supposed to happen over it only.

The feeling was amazing to work with the company whose products we are using since childhood — Windows, MS Office, and many more.

The actual day started the next day where I was introduced to my project and the team. I started working on my project on the same day.

A week went and I was introduced to the intern who would work on the same project 😁. The speed just increased as we two started working on different parts of the project and the implementation, improvements, and hard work were visible to the team.

There were daily standups, weekly reviews, meetings with the whole team, suggestions, and some happy hours 🤓🤗. These days were different, the experience was different, the people were different but still, the bonding and environment were amazing. I improved not only from a technical perspective but also in person. The precise guidance from the manager, the fun talks with mentors, and regular sessions with other interns were amazing.

Fast forward to the 7th week, we had our final presentation and wrapped up the project in the last 8th week. The interviews were held for the pre-placement offer. And finally, the internship ended on 10th July 2020. I received a wonderful farewell from the whole team, and everyone appreciated every contribution I made.

The results were supposed to out on 31st July, and every intern’s heartbeat just rose exponentially that day. I was waiting for the results since morning sitting on the bed, keeping my eyes on the mobile. The mails started rolling out at 4 PM, and some of the interns received rejection mails. I just wished not to receive any mail at that time.
At 4:11, I received the mail, I got the full-time offer and while reading that, I was shivering. Thousands of thoughts just passed from the mind, especially those rejections, and the blessings of everyone who always stood with me and constantly believed me. Finally, there was an end to this journey of getting the first job.

It was hard to believe about getting an offer from my dream company for some days. I realized this was supposed to happen from the start. Now I always feel proud while talking about my rejections and the whole journey. I hope from now, you will never feel sad about any rejection or failure. Just think that there is some better opportunity waiting for you and you have to keep yourself ready for that. Thanks for bearing with me! 🤐
